Project title: Adaptive Control of underwater robots with Machine Learning
This PhD is a cooperation between Lab-STICC UMR CNRS  6285 in France and Flinders University in Australia.

Starting date: Sept./Oct 2019, for 3 years.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold, or be about to complete, a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Systems and Control, applied mathematics or a related discipline. Fluency in English is strongly required.

He will give a doctoral course on "Motion Planning and Motion Control for Underactuated Mechanical Systems". 
This course was approved by I2S doctoral school in Montpellier and participants will get a credit of 15h.

In addition to standard congress elements the key role of automation and control for successfully meeting societal challenges of today and tomorrow will be addressed by Topical Days on Mobility and Transportation, Digitalization, Industry 4.0 and the changing working world, Sustainable green energy and resource supply, Quality of life & health care, complemented by a special topical day on Artificial Intelligence and Control.
Industry presentations at different levels organized in Industrial Evening Sessions will offer an open and lively get together between academia, research and industry. Late Breaking Results and Extended Abstract submissions aim at application-oriented contributions to industrial, economic or social fields, and research from other scientific communities.
Please be reminded also of the very special cultural event the first “IFAC Control Orchestra”. The idea is to form an orchestra consisting solely of people from the control community, to practice and entertain on site during the world congress and to present a live performance during the congress.
